WYLLIE COTTAGE built in 1872, is the oldest house still standing in Gisborne. Also at the Museum is the STAR OF CANADA MARITIME MUSEUM. This superstructure was saved from wreckage when the SS 'Star of Canada' struck rocks and sank at Kaiti Beach in 1912. The Museum also has a delightful café open for lunch.

PAULNACHE Gallery is one of Australasia's foremost dealer galleries and is located in an historic space overlooking the centre of Gisborne. The gallery was established in 2004 by directors Gene Paul and Matthew Nache. They specialize in contemporary New Zealand painting and contemporary Maori art, while showcasing a diverse range of works by leading national and international artists. New exhibitions open on the first Friday of every month. The entrance is on Grey Street with superb cafes adjacent and ample 2 hour parking available. 5 minutes from airport.
