Loco shed is open every Saturday morning 9am - 12pm at the Wharf end of
the Railway. The Steam Train WA165 runs occasionally to Beach Loop - an incredible 3 hour journey that takes in spectacular views of the East Coast.

With coastlines facing south and east, a 180 degree window for picking up super consistent swell (Gisborne rarely goes flat for long), fantastic weather, beaches to suit all levels and better rates for lessons than other surf towns in NZ. Learn to surf with the knowledgeable local crew from Blitz Surf Shop. Learners, improvers and also elite surf coaching is available. Plus we sponsor women's only surf days (Wahine on Waves) every summer. Both group and private lessons are available with our NZ qualified surf coaches and we are mobile so you'll never be stuck with somewhere to go. All surfboards and wetsuits are provided AND you'll get a couple of hours free hire-age of our gear to practice what you've learnt. We've great rates, plus concessions are available.
