Whether you enjoy an early morning swim or you just like water recreation sports, chances are the aquatic and activity centre at the Olympic Pool Complex is for you.  50m indoor heated pool, 33m outdoor pool, dive pool, spa and therapy pool, hydro slide, toddlers pool, BBQ facilities.

the Railway.  The Steam Train WA165 runs occasionally to Beach Loop - an incredible 3 hour journey that takes in spectacular views of the East Coast.

Gisborne has got to be probably the best place in NZ to learn how to surf.
