NZ Accommodation Pivot Tables 

This information can be drilled down to detailed statistics on the Gisborne district for tourism, click here for details. It will download in Excel and may take some time as it is a relatively big file. Please note these stats are only commercial accommodation and do not include visitors staying with friends and relatives. These visitors at certain times of the year can make up 50% of visitors to the Gisborne district.

Select the middle option Territorial Authority and then select Gisborne for local stats.

Please note that due to sample size restrictions, not all RTOs have IVS or DTS data.

 

Tourism Satellite Account (TSA)

The TSA measures the impact of tourism on the New Zealand economy. This allows for industry assessment and comparison with other sectors. The measurements include the impact of total expenditure and the direct and indirect contributions to GDP, employment and taxation.

Forecasting 

The Tourism Research Council of New Zealand's forecasting programme is designed to anticipate future tourism demand. Their forecasts include international visitor arrivals, nights spent, expenditure, regional activity of international visitors and NZ outbound and domestic travel.
